Christopher Hopkins

As Principal for the Fintech Funds, Christopher Hopkins (“Chris”) guides the overall portfolio design, sources investments, and works with management teams on valuation considerations. Chris brings a broad understanding of the financial services industry not only with fintechs and depository institutions, but with private and public companies. Chris has worked with companies in Chicago, New York, and Tokyo, across different stages and components of their life cycles and capital structures. He is on the Board of Directors for Bushel.
Prior to joining 1st & Main, Chris gained experience in the investment banking divisions at Piper Sandler and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods focusing on corporate finance and M&A. At Citigroup, he worked in the Financial Strategy and Solutions Group focusing on valuation and capital structure optimization for financial services companies. He also worked on the FIG Debt Capital Markets desk in Tokyo covering Japanese Banks at JPMorgan.
He holds degrees from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.) and the Harris School of Public Policy (M.P.P.), as well as from International Christian University (B.A.) in Tokyo, Japan.
